World Class Students Honored by the Business Community
Thursday, May 10, 2007 at AGL Resources/Elizabethtown Gas Company in Union, NJ
Students from around the state who were designated “World Class Students” by the Business Coalition for Educational Excellence (BCEE), at the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, came together for the first-ever celebration of the honor. The event, hosted at the Union, NJ headquarters of AGL Resources/Elizabethtown Gas Company, provided students the opportunity to interact with their peers and some of New Jersey’s business leaders and celebrate a job well done.
World Class Students are high school juniors and seniors who have completed, or are on their way to completing, a rigorous set of coursework to prepare them for success in college and life. Numerous studies have found that students who challenge themselves by taking a sequence of more demanding courses in high school are more likely to enjoy greater success and earn more, whether they continue their education or work upon graduating.

Winners of the World Class Students Marketing Challenge
|
| |
During the event, the students were split up into groups to form their own marketing company and present a marketing plan for Learn.Do.Earn. Upon completion of their plan the groups took turns presenting their projects to a business panel. At the conclusion of the day the panel selected the best marketing plan for implementation. The group selected was given money to work together and put their plan into action.
