Montgomery Township Resident Lindsey Brenner Receives PruKids Volunteer Award
Montgomery, NJ (February 10, 2005) – Eighth-grader Lindsey Brenner, of Montgomery Township, has received the PruKids Volunteer Award. She was one of two middle school students nationwide who received the first place honor for best exemplifying the ideal of outstanding community service.

Brenner received the award for her volunteer work with the HomeFront Homeless Shelter, which is based in Ewing at the Katzenbach School for the Deaf. She became interested in the program after her mother, Debbie Lang, a sales associate in Prudential New Jersey Properties Princeton office and member of the Junior League of Greater Princeton worked on a project with HomeFront.

“After spending a day at the shelter, I decided that I was going to try to raise as much money as possible for HomeFront,” explains Lindsey. “I spent several hours fund-raising for this cause, by working at bake or snack sales at our school and at my local elementary school. I sent out a letter to my family members and close friends, asking them to make small donations to HomeFront. I also set up a booth at the annual Charity Day at my synagogue and enlisted fellow students to help me solicit donations for this worthy organization. My best friend Rachel Frommer was a tremendous help with the fundraising."

Any Prudential associate's child in grades 5-12 who has performed community service over the past year is eligible. The program is open to children of all active, full, or part-time members of the Prudential Financial family. Judges select winners based on personal initiative, effort, affect on the community, and personal growth.
